Lions Super14 forwards coach, Leon Boshoff, is in hot water for allegedly leveling racist remarks against the team's black players after a humiliating loss to the Stormers at Newlands at the weekend.
He allegedly told Earl Rose, Lawrence Sephaka and Ashwin Willemse that if they were not black their contracts would have been in jeopardy. Boshoff has been suspended pending an investigation into the alleged remarks. Lions president, Janne Ferreira, says he cannot comment further as investigations are still ongoing.
Meanwhile, Boshoff has denied the allegations which come at a time when the Lions admit their season is at a cross-roads. Unless results go their way, not even head coach Eugene Eloff's job is safe. Even Ferreira urged the team to perform well in their upcoming match on Saturday, saying serious decisions will be taken if the team fails to perform.
